Ammonium Bifluoride (Ammonium Hydrogen Difluoride) CAS 1341-49-7 — Industrial Grade Fluoride Source (glass etching · metal surface treatment · cleaning)
Product Description

Ammonium bifluoride (NH₄HF₂) is a white crystalline fluoride salt used industrially as a source of fluoride for glass etching, metal surface treatment, ceramic processing and cleaning chemistries. It provides in-situ generation of fluoride activity in aqueous systems.

Applications
  • Glass etching, frosting and surface texturing
  • Metal surface treatment, pickling and fluxing
  • Ceramic glazing and fluoride-based finishing
  • Industrial cleaners and descalants where fluoride use is specified
  • Laboratory reagent for controlled fluorination/analysis
Technical Specifications
Parameter Specification
CAS Number 1341-49-7
Molecular Formula NH₄HF₂
Molecular Weight ≈ 57.05 g/mol
Appearance White crystalline / granular solid
Purity (typical) ≥ 95-99% (grade dependent)
Packaging & Storage

Packaged in moisture-resistant 25 kg bags or drums with PE liners; bulk options available. Store sealed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from acids, strong oxidizers and incompatible materials.

Safety Notice
This product can release hydrofluoric acid (HF) under certain conditions — HF exposure causes severe, potentially life-threatening injuries. Only trained personnel with appropriate PPE and HF first-aid measures (calcium gluconate) should handle this material.
